Job Summary:

 

Harvard’s pursuit of continuous improvement and significant growth are supported by our recent re-design of our corporate structure and our explosive growth performance in the last 3 years.  Core services provided by our CAO area are strategic and operational coincident, with substantial business strategy and analysis, implementation of Lean methodologies and tools as well as the definition of Corporate standards.

The Manager of Corporate Strategy will support the CAO , the executive team, and the five (5) companies affiliated with the Harvard Companies  by driving holistic business analytics and strategic modelling.  The Manager of Corporate Strategy will function as an in-house consultant and strategy process driver of our matrixed organization.

The role will help define the future strategic direction of the organization, gather and analyze data, and advise and implement recommended course of action, all while working with a team that includes internal clients. Other responsibilities include: performing market and organization analysis studies to promote the organization’s growth agenda including M&A potential and next-generation services. The role is designed to assist the organization in driving business growth across the business portfolio and  to introduce  best practices into the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Apply technical knowledge and statistical tools to develop, characterize, and optimize the Strategic Planning and business alignment processes
  • Build and evaluate new business models and corporate relationships
  • Work with C-suite level executives to ensure that daily objectives, reports, and metrics align with the Company’s goals
  • Partner with the Sales & Marketing group to identify and target attainable opportunities in the market
  • Leverage numerous sources of data to analyze relevant competitive and industry information, and general as well as specific trends, including relevant sales, pricing and profitability metrics
  • Examine the profitability of each service, product, and location to recommend resource allocation
  • Develop Strategic Planning tools and support methodology to lead the executive team in the annual strategic planning process
  • Monitor strategic and operational Key Performance Indicators to identify opportunities for growth and improvement
  • Support knowledge sharing as well as identify process benchmarks within and outside the Maintenance and Security industries
  • Leverage professional networks to attain critical resources and information
  • Collaborate with counterparts in other business areas

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration or Finance; preference will be given to candidates who have obtained an MBA, MS Finance, or MS Economics
  • 3+ years’ experience in a Finance, Corporate Strategy, Consulting, or Marketing Analytics role
  • Experience with a Tier 1 management consulting/strategy firm preferred
  • Proficiency in structured problem solving and ability to influence others in this framework
  • Analytical and structural skills including mathematical modeling, exposure to market research and strategic planning methodologies
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; must be able to summarize and communicate these conclusions effectively
  • Excellent executive presentation skills and strong written and verbal English communication skills are required
  • Ability to work across many internal teams to drive strategy process and analytics
  • Ability to facilitate groups of stakeholders to arrive at conclusions and recommendations
  • Basic project management experience preferred
