    Job Overview:

    The Information Security Analyst position is a critical member of the Information Technology team at Harvard Shared Services. The role is responsible for the execution of all Infosec projects, while improving the capabilities to detect, prevent and respond to information and physical threats. This is to achieve and maintain a security posture commensurate with the risk tolerance of the organization while meeting business objectives and regulatory requirements. Provide strategic direction and consulting to support cross-functional security activities and project teams including security strategy, solution, architecture, technology products, design and implement policies, infrastructure hardening and compliance, vulnerability identification, remediation plans, policy developments, and risk assessment. The analyst will collaborate closely with IT and other business units to ensure adequate security solutions are in place throughout all IT systems and platforms.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Manage a portfolio of projects in support of Information and Physical Security initiatives.
    • Documents risks and develops mitigation plans.
    • Collaborate and provide input to security teams in the areas of Risk and Compliance Management.
    • Promotes and facilitates effective communication between IT, other departments and/or business units.
    • Assists with remediation efforts and recommendations as it relates to external and internal security threats and audits.
    • Maintain IT risk and control audit readiness in support of regulatory compliance audits
    • Plan, implement and upgrade security measures and controls
    • Establish plans and protocols to protect digital files and information systems against unauthorized access, modification and/or destruction.
    • Maintain data and monitor security access
    • Perform vulnerability testing, risk analyses and security assessments
    • Conduct internal and external security audits
    • Anticipate security alerts, incidents and disasters and reduce their likelihood
    • Manage network, intrusion detection and prevention systems
    • Analyze security breaches to determine their root cause. Pro-actively thwart new APT’s.
    • Recommend and install appropriate tools and countermeasures
    • Define, implement and maintain corporate security policies
    • Train fellow employees in security awareness and procedures
    • Coordinate security plans with outside vendors

    Knowledge and Skill Requirements

    • BS in Information Systems or Management Information Systems or business related field.
    • Course of Study/Major: CS, CE, CIS, IS, MIS, or similar
    • Type of Credentials/Licenses: CISSP 
    • Related Work Experience: 2-4 years
