Job Summary:

 

Based in Miami, this newly created position reports directly to Harvard’s CHRO and will play a critical role in realizing the vision and growth plans for the company.  The VP of Total Rewards is accountable for the design, delivery and management of all compensation, wage and benefit programs. The incumbent is a key player on a national HR leadership team, contributing to HR strategy and building a high-performing team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides strategic and operational leadership in the design, development, implementation, administration, and communication of our Total Rewards programs including health, welfare, wellness, retirement, base pay, incentives, and other rewards and perquisites
  • Accountable for developing and managing to a total rewards philosophy and programs that deliver value for investment in compensation and benefits
  • Manages benefit design to minimize healthcare cost increases, including an employee wellness program
  • Develop and lead total reward communication and training that results in educated healthcare consumers and managers able to make effective compensation decisions
  • Maintains current knowledge of related government rules and regulations, including the Employee Retirement Income Security act (ERISA), FLSA, FMLA, ADA, COBRA, OSHA, Worker’s Compensation, and other applicable Labor and/or Tax laws and regulations; fulfills compliance and reporting requirements
  • Responsible for the improvement and fiduciary standards of Harvard’s 401(k) program
  • Designs, implements and manages end-to-end compensation and benefit cycles that deliver on time-cost-quality metrics
  • Manage team of compensation, benefits, and compliance professionals
  • Assesses external labor market conditions to develop the most effective, economical and appropriate total rewards programs
  • Build compensation / job infrastructure to guide/control company’s growth and its impact on compensation and wage expenses
  • Develop and manage budgets, policies, procedures
  • Ensure all compensation and benefit activities consistent with organization's policies and standards
  • Develop and manage total rewards dashboard
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal employment law and regulations
  • Other Human Resources related duties

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • (12+) years of recent total reward experience in high volume, fast-paced organization
  • Proven experience in effectively containing annual healthcare cost increases
  • Depth of expertise in managing compensation and benefits for large non-exempt workforce and FLSA requirements
  • Experienced working in a multi-state organization, able to maintain practical knowledge against local, state and federal wage and benefit requirements
  • Proven competency in designing and managing complex processes that deliver intended outcomes
  • Hands-on experience with HR information systems, including RFP process, implementation and management
  • Creativity, driven, and a self-starter
  • Talent to work efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Strong leadership and effective communication skills
  • Progressive proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field

Harvard is offering a competitive compensation structure including benefit package with medical, dental, life, and long-term disability (LTD) insurance along with 401K Savings Plan.
