A day in the life:

The Mechanic is responsible for performing a variety of general and preventative maintenance duties. This includes installing, repairing, and maintaining building equipment and systems in a safe and efficient manner to ensure uninterrupted facility operations.

• Perform routine and emergency maintenance services as scheduled.
• Conduct basic facility repairs, including changing light bulbs, minor plumbing work, and fixture replacements.
• Complete assigned work orders and tasks in a timely and professional manner.
• Conduct outdoor cleanup including trash pickup around the building and parking areas.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and machinery as directed.
• Properly use, maintain, and store tools and equipment.
• Operate all mechanical and maintenance equipment safely and according to guidelines.
• Monitor and maintain assigned building systems and respond to issues as needed.
• Identify and report safety hazards and take appropriate action.
• Maintain courteous and professional behavior when interacting with residents, vendors, contractors, and colleagues.
• Work independently and efficiently without close supervision.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year of commercial or facilities-related maintenance experience.
• Basic knowledge of maintenance trades such as electrical, plumbing, and general repairs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work flexible or assigned shifts, including nights or weekends if required.
