    Job Summary:

     

    Harvard is hiring for a temporary general cleaner for a maximum of 60 days at a downtown Minneapolis account. The general cleaner will have a full time schedule, Monday through Friday, from 5:30 PM to 1:30 AM. This candidate may be eligible for full time, permanent employment after temporary employment has ended. *Contact hiring manager for more information on temp-to-hire possibilities.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Responsible for all basic cleaning, including but not limited to:

    • Restroom cleaning: restock toilet tissue and other dispensers, empty trash, clean and sanitize fixtures, clean mirrors, spot clean partition doors and walls, sweep and mop tile floors, and clean toilets and urinals
    • Common area, office, and kitchen/break area cleaning: vacuum floors, empty trash, replace can liners, dust mop, damp mop, sweep floors, gum removal, dust surfaces and fixtures, pick up larger objects off the floor, spot clean glass, and move furniture to clean as requested
    Perform additional duties as assigned, including but not limited to:
    • Attending to flooded areas
    • Cleaning incidental spills
    • Related clean-up work for trash and restroom concerns
    • Ensure walkways remain clear and free of debris
    • Notify operations management of any equipment repairs required
    • Restock carts and closets at the end of each shift

    Knowledge and Skill Requirements

    • Strong communication skills
    • Must be willing to work assigned hours
    • Ability to stand and walk for the entire duration of the shift (up to 8 hours each day)
    • Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and twist throughout duration of the shift
    • Ability to lift between 10lbs-25lbs throughout duration of shift
    • Ability to work both independently and in team settings

    Compensation

    $15.02/hour to start
