  • Position Objective

    The on-call snow removal position is responsible for the de-icing and clearing of snow from walks, driveways and lots for commercial properties throughout the Downtown Chicago area in an efficient manner, promoting job worksite safety, providing excellent customer service, and exhibits pride and quality workmanship. 


    This is an on-call, weather dependant position and hours are not guaranteed.  Shifts are mostly early mornings and calls for work will be made early.  There will also be some weekend work as needed.  For immediate consideration please apply online here and/or attend one of our Job Fairs every Wednesday 10am-12:30pm & 1:30pm-5pm.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Work closely with Supervisor in the de-icing and removal of snow from walks, driveways and parking
    • Knowledge on how to operate snow removal equipment
    • People skills, so can help with snow crew training
    • Reliable and flexible with the schedule depending on the snow event

    • lots for various residential and commercial properties according to the specified contracts.
    • Maintain a clean and safe job site, while ensuring current landscape and property is not damaged in the efforts of removing snow.
    • Maintain and care for the provided equipment, tools and vehicles.
    • Proficiently and safely use snow removal equipment such as shovels, snow blowers, other power and manually operated tools and equipment used to perform snow removal.
    • Safely and appropriately distribute de-icing solutions, including calcium chloride or rock salt.
    • Perform highly physical work outdoors on a consistent basis in all weather conditions, specifically very cold, icy, snowy weather.
    • Always represent the company’s best interest, maintain the highest level of integrity and professionalism.

    Knowledge and Skill Requirements

    • This is a weather dependent position with no guaranteed hours
    • Ability to work outdoors in the cold
    • Ability to lift heavy shovels 
    • Punctual and dependable with a can-do attitude
    • Must have own snow attire such as boots, hat, gloves, etc.  A Harvard jacket will be provided at the buildings.


    Harvard is offering an hourly pay rate of $20.00 per hour.
